Vivien Lau

Vivien is the Quality Manager of Biobanking Victoria at Monash University, where she played a pivotal role in guiding the facility through the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) audit process resulting in its recognition as Australia’s first accredited biobank in 2021.

With over 30 years of experience spanning health, medical research, and higher education, Vivien supported the establishment of Micromon’s DNA sequencing facility, the first service of its kind in Australia, and led development of the Monash Health Translation Precinct (MHTP) Medical Genomics Facility. She later oversaw the strategic advancement of MHTP’s research technology portfolio.

As a NATA technical assessor for two decades, Vivien is a passionate advocate for embedding quality and integrity into research and healthcare systems. She is committed to fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and leading initiatives that strengthen impact across broader health, science and research sectors.
